Eileen G. Asche, 89, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at
the Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 7, 2003, 10:30 A.M. at Peace
Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Ernest Smith and Rev. Michael Klatt
officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Leigh,
Nebraska on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Friday from
5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 -
10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M.
Eileen G. Asche was born May 6, 1914 in Stanton County near Leigh, Nebraska
to Gustave and Clara (Loseke) Asche. She went to school at District 42 in
Stanton County and Zion Lutheran Parochial school and Leigh High School..
Eileen worked at the Leigh Bakery for four years and the Leigh cafe for five
years. While living in Leigh, Eileen taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran
Church for many years. She commuted to work at Becton Dickinson until she
moved to Columbus in the early 1970's. She also worked as a sales clerk at
JC Penney's for five years and Sayed Sewing Center and Earl May Garden Center
in Columbus for a number of years.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing cards. She was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church in Leigh before moving to Columbus. After her move to
Columbus, she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and then Peace
Lutheran Church.

Sister - Loretta Asche - Columbus, NE
